GIG316217 Introduction to Linguistics
This course discusses the linguistic theories which consist of an extensive introduction to the terms and concepts necessary for analyzing the English language. The course includes English phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Upon the completion of the course, the students are expected to (a) have a solid understanding of English linguistic terms and concepts, and (b) be able to do some linguistic analyses.
The assessment of student achievement is based on a number of aspects, which include student’s attendance, participation in online discussion, group and individual presentation, assignments, the mid-semester test, and the semester examination.Teacher: Ismail Petrus
